Every day, various departments, offices, and clubs on the Lehigh campus host events and meetings that often include surplus food. This excess food is commonly discarded once these gatherings conclude. The Hungry Hawks initiative aims to break this cycle of waste at Lehigh University.

The Hungry Hawks application serves the purpose of promoting surplus food from campus events and meetings to alleviate food insecurity and reduce food wastage within the university community. Through Hungry Hawks, faculty, staff, and students have the opportunity to advertise leftover food from events or meetings via the mobile app or web interface. Moreover, students seeking free surplus food can easily access information about active events through both the mobile application and web interface.
